Admin Tier Required – Only Dashboard Admins with Tier 4 access can open and view the Bid Table. Managing Bidding within the Bid Table, such as changing Increments and Reserves for Timed Auction Lots, or Cancelling Bids and Disabling Auto Bids, are restricted to Webtron Admin Tier 5.

Bid Table – Item Information and Bid History panel breakdown

Item Information and Bid History panel – by section

The Item Information and Bid History panel contains the full Bid, Offer and Purchase History for each Item and is divided into 4 sections;

  1. Lot Information – the Lot Information section contains the Lot Number, Title (also a link to the Edit Item menu), End Date and Item Status (Status), and the other columns you have selected, such as Current Bid (Curr Bid), Number of Bids, Number of Auto Bids etc.
  2. Offers – the Offers section appears if Offers or Purchases have been made on an Item. Purchases are listed, whilst Offers will be marked as Accepted, Rejected or Pending. Pending Offers can be accepted or rejected from this section, same as the Offer Table.
  3. Bids – the Bids section displays the full Bid History for that Lot, both Bids placed on the Increments and Bids placed on behalf of the Bidder via Auto Bid.
  4. Auto Bids – the Auto Bids section displays the full Auto Bid History for that Lot, specifying the Auto Bid Maximum Amount for each Auto Bid set on that Lot, this section is highlighted in green to make it easier to identify the Auto Bids section.

Bid Information Contextual Sections – the Offers section will only appear on Timed Auction Lots and Listings that are set to either Purchase Option – Buy Now, or Purchase Option – Make Offer. Timed Auction Lots set to Purchase Option – None, and Webcast Lots will only display the Item Information, Bids, and Auto Bids sections.

Bidders and Buyers

The Bidder(s) who placed each of the Bids and Auto Bids, and the Buyers who have submitted Offers and made Purchases, are each listed in the Bid Information panel are displayed as their Username, with their Username acting as a clickable link to open their Bidder Profile.

Keyboard Shortcut Recommendation – Hold CTRL (Command on macOS) and left-click on any of the Usernames within the Bid Information panel to open their Bidder Profile in a new tab.

Back not Back – If you open a Bidder’s profile from the Bid Information panel and you need to return to the Bid Table, we recommend hitting back on your browser, not clicking the green Back button at the top-left of the Bidder’s profile. The green back button there will return you to the Users & Groups > Users menu, whereas hitting back on your Browser (usually the left-pointing arrow at the top-left of the window) will return you to the Bid Table.

Suspending Lots, Cancelling Bids and Disabling Auto Bids

The Bid Information panel also contains the options to Suspend a Lot, Cancel Bids and Disable Auto Bids. Click here to open our Cancelling Bids and Disabling Auto Bids guide.

Auto-Cancelled Bids Notice – Some Bids may automatically appear in Cancelled status in the Bid Information panel, this will occur when someone attempts to outbid an Auto Bid. Upon the bidding reaching the Auto Bid Maximum, the Auto Bid logic will cancel the competing bid in favour of the original Bidder who set their Auto Bid first. This logic will also apply if two Bidders set the same Auto Bid amount, the Portal will favour who set the Auto Bid first and place them as the current highest bidder at their matching Auto Bid amount. Bidders will immediately see the “You have been Outbid” messaging on the Lot.

FAQ – The Bid Table

Q: How can I tell when a Bid was placed?
A: We recommend referring to the Date column on the left hand side of the Bids and Auto Bids sections of the Bid Information panel, this will record the full Date and Time (In HH:MM:SS) a bid was placed. This is especially helpful for distinguishing competing Auto Bids.

Q: The Bids section displays in date order, but the Auto Bids don’t, why is that?
A: The Auto Bids section is ordered by highest to lowest Auto Bid Maximum Amount, as typically the highest Auto Bid amount will also be closely related to the Current Highest Bid.

Q: Does the Bid Table update on it’s own or do I have to refresh the page?
A: No refresh needed, the Bid Table will auto-update every 5-7.5 seconds with new bidding activity. For Timed Auctions, the Bid Table will also display the Countdown Clock for each Item.

Q: What’s the difference between the normal Bid Table and the beta Bid Table?
A: Functionally they are identical, everything you can do in Bid Table (Classic) you can also do in Bid Table (Beta), the only difference is the layout.

Q: Why does the beta Bid Table look so different?
A: The beta Bid Table is an experiment in what a potential redesign of the Webtron Dashboard might look like.

Q: When will the Dashboard be redesigned?
A: We don’t have any news to share on when the redesign will happen at this stage.

Q: The “Ends” time in the Bid Information panel is wrong.
A: This is a known issue with the Bid Table. The Ends date and time in the Bid Information panel is displaying the correct the correct time when your Item has closed, but it is displaying in the UTC 0 timezone. We don’t have an ETA on a fix at the moment, but if you’d like to confirm the Ends time in your local timezone, you can ask the Webtron AI Chatbot to “Convert 2:03 AM UTC to AEST”.

Q: What does Ref No. mean?
A: Ref No. appears in several places of the Webtron Dashboard. In the context of the Bid Table, Ref No refers to an Item’s unique Reference ID Number. This is a hidden permanent ID number used for error logging at our end. Ref No. also appears on Invoices generated within the Webtron Dashboard.

Q: How do I go back from the new Bid Table to the old Bid Table?
A: To switch back to Bid Table (Classic), look to the bottom-left of the Bid Table menu and click the black Use Traditional Design button. This will send you back to the Dashboard Home page, but if you navigate back to the Bid Table, you should now see the old Bid Table layout. If you don’t see the old layout, you may need to clear your browser cookies. Please Note: clearing your browser cookies will also log you out of any other services you are logged into on that browser.

Q: Why do all the Bid Table guides show the beta Bid Table and not the old Bid Table?
A: We are planning to add tabs within the Bid Table guides that allow you to easily toggle between guides for Bid Table (Classic) and Bid Table (Beta), but this is currently further down the guide roadmap.
