In this guide, we’ll cover how to fill out the Item Import Spreadsheet for a Webcast Auction.
Required Software and File Format
Needless to say, you’ll need access to a spreadsheeting app or service in order to fill in our Item Import Spreadsheet template.
For the purposes of this guide we’ll be using Microsoft Excel, but our spreadsheet template can also be opened and edited in:
Apple Numbers
Google Sheets, or
LibreOffice Calc
To successfully import the spreadsheet it must also be saved in the CSV format (.csv, UTF-8 comma delimited), not .xlsx (Excel Workbook) or .numbers (Apple Numbers Spreadsheet).

Once you’ve opened your copy of the Item Import Spreadsheet, you’ll see the first two rows (Row 1 and Row 2) are already filled in.
Row 1 contains the Column Headings the Webtron Dashboard will use to match your item data to the fields inside the Dashboard itself:
Row 2 contains instructions on what to fill in to the cells under each column:
Expected Columns The Webtron Dashboard uses each of the Column Headings to match your item data to each respective field. Do not remove or modify any of the contents of Row 1 and Row 2, doing so may result in errors when attempting to import your items.
The number of columns may appear daunting but to speed up your lotting we’ve highlighted only the required columns in green:
To successfully import your items and convert them from Ghost status to Preview status, you only need to fill in these columns:
Item Type
Lot Number1
Lot Title
Category
Vendor
Purchase Option
Opening Bid2
Bid Increment3
The following columns must be left blank:
End Date and End Time
Display Price
Unit of Measurement
Purchase Price
Reserve Price

Step 1: Setting your Item Type
We’ll start with Column A, Item Type.
For Webcast Auctions, the only valid Item type is Webcast. Fill in each of the cells under Column A with WEBCAST in all caps to set your Item Type:
Step 2: Setting your Lot Numbers
Next is Column B, Lot Number.
If you would like to set your Lot Numbers manually, you can fill in each of the cells under the Lot Number column:
Alternatively, you can leave the Lot Number column blank and on-import, the Webtron Dashboard will automatically assign Lot Numbers to your items, i.e. the item data you will in to Row 3 will be set as Lot 1.
Alphanumeric Lot Numbers Support Lot Numbers can be wholly numerical, alphabetical or alphanumeric (i.e. Lot 1, Lot A or Lot 1A).
