Real-time Updating for Increments and Reserves (Timed Auctions Only)
Estimated reading: 5 minutes
In the Webtron Dashboard, the Bid Table will enable you not only to view and manage incoming Bids. For Timed Auction Lots, you also have the ability to change Increments* and Reserves on a per-Lot basis, all in realtime.
*Auto Increments Exception – If you currently have Auto Increments for Timed Auctions enabled (in your Auctioneer profile), only realtime changes to Reserves can be made through the Bid Table, your Auto Increment table will set the Increment on each Lot for you.
Navigation Path to the Bid Table
Across the top of the Webtron Dashboard, click the Auctions & Items dropdown then click View Auctions. On the View Auctions page, look to the middle right-hand side of the page, inside the Auctions table and under the column labelled Actions, click the blue Bid Table button.
To get started, follow the Navigation Path above to open the Bid Table for your Timed Auction. For this guide we recommend using our new beta Bid Table, which you can access by clicking the green Try our beta Bid Table button at the top-right of the page.
If you’ve already clicked that button, the beta Bid Table will load by default.
Filtering the Bid Table (Optional)
The Bid Table can be quite wide, and whilst your device will show the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the table, you can also disable a few of the columns in the Bid Table itself. By default, The Columns that appear at the top of the Bid Table are:
Lot – Lot Number
Status – Item Status – Live, Suspended, Withdrawn, Sold Bidding, Unsold etc.
Time Left – the End Time for each Lot (this will switch from a date and time to a Countdown Clock in the final 24 hours)
Title – the Lot Title
Bidder – the Username of the current highest Bidder on that Lot, also acts as a clickable link to their Bidder account in the Users & Groups > Users menu.
PN – that Bidder’s assigned Paddle Number for this Timed Auction.
Curr Bid – abbreviation of Current Bid, the current Hammer amount on that Lot.
Auto Bid – will display the set Auto Bid Maximum amount if the Current Bid was placed by an Auto Bid on the Bidder’s behalf.
Purchases – for Listings or Lot’s with the Buy Now option enabled, lists if this Item has been purchased.
Bids – simple counter of how many Bids have been placed on this Lot.
Auto Bids – simple counter of how many Auto Bids have been set on this Lot.
Offers – simple counter of how many Offers have been made on this Lot
Look to the right-hand side of the Bid Table menu, just above the top-right of the table itself, click the light blue Show Filters button.
This will pop out the Search bar and Show Columns filters.
The Search bar allows you to live search the Bid Table by Lot Title keywords, a Bidder’s Username or just by Lot Number. Start typing your search query in the Search bar and the Bid Table will filter itself in realtime to display results matching your search characters.
Alternatively, each Column inside the table itself will appear as small labels listed next to Show Columns, with each label sporting a small X icon on the right edge. Click the X icon on any of the labels, this will hide it’s corresponding column and reduce the overall width of the Bid Table on your screen.
Using the Increment and Reserve columns in the Bid Table
Changes reflected on your Portal – Any changes to the Increment and Reserve columns in the Bid Table are reflected on your Portal in realtime. Whilst Reserve amounts are hidden, Bidders will see any changes made to the Increment as soon as you click apply.
Once you’ve opened and filtered the Bid Table to your liking, we’ll be using the two columns labelled Increment and Reserve.
For Lots in a Timed Auction, the Increment and Reserve columns will show the current Increment and current Reserve for each Lot inside a simple number field, we’ll start with the Increment column first. Under the Increment column, click into a Lot’s Increment field, backspace or delete the current Increment and type out a new number.
The Revert or Apply buttons will now fill in with colour, Revert being the red X button, and Apply being the green Tick button next to it. You can revert your changes by clicking the red X, or click the green Tick to apply the new Increment.
You can do the same for each Lot’s Reserve by using the number fields under the Reserve column, simply backspace the current Reserve amount, type a new Reserve amount in and click the green Tick to apply your changes.
Reserve Amounts are Hidden – Your Bidders will never see the exact Reserve amount set on a Lot. Whether a Lot has a Reserve and if the Reserve has been met or not will only be indicated at the top-right of each Lot by our optional Reserve Status tags.
