Minimum Requirements for Live Webcast Streaming
Streaming and Clerking a Live Webcast Auction requires slightly more powerful hardware to ensure a stable stream and responsive clerking controls, as well as a stable internet connection.
These are the minimum recommendations when it comes to Hardware, Software and Internet Connection Speed:
Hardware;
CPU – AMD Ryzen 3000 Series (R5 or faster) or newer, Intel 10th Generation or newer (i5/Ultra 5 or faster)
RAM/Memory – 16GB DDR4 minimum, having a higher capacity of RAM is especially useful for providing browser-based applications like ours with a greater level of stability.
GPU – If your Clerking device is required to run an external Auctioneer and Room Screen via HDMI, or you are incorporating additional streaming hardware and software like external cameras, mixers and OBS, contact us.
Camera/Webcam – Logitech C922 1080p Webcam. The C922 is one of the most popular Webcam options, we heavily recommend it due to it’s price, plug and play ease of setup, and broad compatability with both Windows and Apple Mac devices.
Software;
Operating System (Windows) – Windows 11 23H2, Windows 10 support will be discontinued by Microsoft in October 2025.
Operating System (Apple macOS) – macOS 11 Big Sur minimum, macOS 14 Sonoma recommended.
Internet Browser – Mozilla Firefox v120.
Internet Connection Speed;
A stable internet connection is crucial when it comes to running a Live Webcast Auction. Our streaming service is powered by Vonage (formerly TokBox) and targets 1080p quality.
Download – 5MBs per second minimum.
Upload – 1MBs per second (5MBs per second recommended).
The Live Webcast feed will auto-tune it’s quality based on your internet connection speed and stability, to ensure your feed remains real-time.
