Charges

Charges – Charges refers to a value and function in the Webtron Auction Management Dashboard. You can set an additional Charges value on a per-item basis, either in the Create New Items menu, the Item Upload Spreadsheet, or by Bulk Editing your Items after they have been Imported and Converted. Charges appear in the Confirm Bid panel on the Bidding Portal, as well as on the Invoice sent to your Bidder.

Closed

Context Category – Core Functionality Terminology.
Terminology Category – Universal Term, Portal Terminology, Webtron Dashboard Terminology.
Alternate Terms – Closed Auction, Closed Item, Closed Lot.

Definition – Closed refers to the public status of an Auction or Item, and a tab found at the top of the Upcoming Lots section of a Webcast Auction in the Live (Live Bidding) phase. By default on your Auction Portal, each Item displays the following message: “Lot has Closed – Highest Bid Subject to confirmation by the Auctioneer”. This message appears once that Item has reached it’s End Date and Time or has been marked as Sold or Passed by the Webcast Clerk. The leading Bidder will still see a message confirming “You are currently the Highest Bidder”, but for proper bid dispute handling, we defer all Winning Bid confirmations to the Auctioneer.

Contextual Appearances – Closed appears as both messaging and a filter on your Portal, depending on Auction Type:

  • Lot has Closed – Highest Bid Subject to confirmation by the Auctioneer” – this refers to the messaging that appears on each Lot in place of the Bid button once that Lot has reached the end of it’s End Time in a Timed Auction. That messaging will also appear on Webcast Lots in Past Auctions once the Webcast Auction has been moved from Live to Reconciliation status.
  • Closed (Webcast Auctions) – Closed appears as a selectable tab during the Live (Live Bidding) phase of the Webcast Auction. The Closed filter appears at the top of the Upcoming Lots list below the Current Lot in the Ring. When Webcast Lots are marked as Sold or Passed by the Webcast Clerk, they move from the Ring to the Closed tab.

Alternate Terms – Commission Bids, Absentee Bid, Commission Bidder, Webcast Auto Bid, Set Commission Bid, Commission Bid Max., Commission Bid Maximum.
Supported Item Types – Webcast Lot.

Visibility:

  • Your Portal – Visible only to the Bidder who set it in the Upcoming Lot List > Open tab.
  • The Webtron Dashboard – Recorded and viewable in the Bid Table, the Webcast Clerking Console, and the Webcast Auctioneer Screen.

Definition – Commission Bid is the label applied to Auto Bids placed during the Live (Pre-Bidding) phase, and the Live (Live Bidding) phase of a Webcast Auction. During the Pre-Bidding phase, Bidders can place Auto Bids, however, once the Webcast Auction transitions into the Live Bidding phase, Auto Bids are converted and referred to as Commission Bids. This is due to their functionality, Commission Bids are placed on behalf of the Bidder by the Webcast Clerk, unlike Auto Bids which are placed automatically by the Portal when the Auto Bidder is outbid. In traditional auction terminology, a Commission Bid is similar in purpose to an Absentee Bid. The exact Commission Bid amount set by the Bidder is visible only to the Bidder who set it and Webtron Dashboard Admins (visible inside the Bid Table, the Webcast Clerking Console, and the Webcast Auctioneer Screen). Contacts

Contacts – Contacts is a term that refers to the menu located under the Users & Groups > Contacts menu, the Sale Contacts submenu found when Creating a New Auction, and the Contacts column located on the Auctions & Items > View Auctions menu. Contacts are profiles that can be assigned on a per-Auction basis, with their Full Name, Business Address, Email Address, and Contact Number publically viewable under the Essential Information panel for the Auction on your Portal. We recommend assigning a Contact relevant to the Sale Details or ignoring this feature entirely, it is completely optional.

Contact Seller

Contact Seller – Contact Seller refers to the function and feature in the Webtron Auction Management Dashboard and your Portal, and can be Enabled on a Per-Item basis or all Items via Group Edit. When Enabled, Contact Seller adds an “Ask us a Question” button on the image for that Item on your Portal, enabling your Bidders to send through Questions or General Enquiries about that specific Item, with their message being forwarded via email to whichever Client Administrator account is specified in the Notifications tab of your Auctioneer profile. Client Administrators can reply to the email to respond directly to the Bidder’s email address. Contact Seller can be enabled or disabled via the Item Upload spreadsheet by specifying YES or NO under the Contact Seller column.

Create Account

Create Account – Create Account is a term that refers to the Create Account form on your Portal. To Bid on your Auctions, each Bidder must fill out each of the Create Account form’s Required fields, these fields are marked with a * symbol. The Required fields are; Username, a valid Email Address, Password, First Name, Last Name, Address Line 1, City, State, Postcode, Country, Time Zone and Main Phone Number. A valid Email Address is defined as an active Email Address the Bidder has access to, this is especially important if you have Bidder Activates Own Account enabled, as they will need to click the Activation Link emailed to them to Activate their Account and be able to Log in. They must also specify their Marketing Preferences, both are optional but any Bidders who say Yes to receive emails about upcoming sales must then choose a Favourite Category before they can proceed. The Bidder then has to click or tap the slider for “I have read and agree with the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.” to enable the Create Your Account button.

Currency

Currency – Currency refers to the function in the Webtron Auction Management Dashboard to set a Currency value for each Auction and/or each individual Item. The Currency is set in the General Settings panel of your Auction Settings, any changes made there will need to be reflected by pulling your Items into the Bulk Edit menu and changing their Currency via the Group Edit submenu. Current Auctions

Current Bid

Context Category – Core Functionality Terminology.
Terminology Category – Universal Term, Feature Label, Portal Feature, Webtron Dashboard Terminology.
Alternate Terms – Current Highest Bid, Leading Bid.

Definition – Current Bid and Current Highest Bid are the terms we use to define the current leading bid on an Item. As some Items may carry a Reserve, we never use Current Highest Bid in the same context as Winning Bid, only within the context of an Auction or Item that has not closed yet, or has not been Sold or Passed by the Webcast Clerk.

Where it appears:

Timed Auctions (Your Portal) – the Current Bid message will replace the Opening Bid message after the first Bid has been placed on a Lot:

Webcast Auctions (Your Portal) – identical to Timed Auctions during the Live (Pre-Bidding) phase, the Current Bid message also appears above the “Click here to Bid [Asking Price]” button on the Lot in Ring after the first bid has been placed on that Lot.

The Marketplace (Your Portal) – identical appearance and context as the Current Bid messaging for Timed Auctions.

Dashboard Administrator

Context Category – Core Functionality Terminology.
Terminology Category – Universal Term, Webtron Dashboard Terminology.
Alternate Terms – Client Admin, Dashboard Admin, Webtron Dashboard Admin.

Definition – Dashboard Administrator is our terminology for an individual or account that has been assigned administrator access to the Webtron Auction Management Dashboard, or Webtron Dashboard for short. Dashboard Administrators have tiered access to the various areas and functions of the Webtron Dashboard, with the different Tier levels controlling what a Dashboard Admin can do and which areas they can access. Click here to open our Administrator Access Tiers defined guide.

Security as a priority – To ensure your Auction and Bidder data remain secure, only Webtron staff can finalise granting Administrator access to new accounts. If you need another Admin account set up, fill out the Create Account form on your Portal, then email us at support@webtronoa.com to start the process.

Display Price

Display Price – Display Price refers to the function and field value in the Webtron Auction Management Dashboard > Create New Items menu and Item Upload spreadsheet, to set a Display Price value for Items using the Listing Item Type and supports all Purchase Options. The Display Price is used to indicate the overall Value of an Item if it differs from or has a discounted Purchase Price amount. The Display Price is not the amount the Bidder is purchasing the Item for via the Buy Now button, to specify that amount, use the Purchase Price field.

Draft

Context Category – Core Functionality Terminology.
Terminology Category – Universal Term, Webtron Dashboard Terminology.
Alternate Terms – Draft Status, Draft Item, Draft Lot.

Definition – Draft refers to both an Auction and Item status, and an Item control button in the Webtron Dashboard:

  • Draft (Item status) – In the Webtron Dashboard, an Item in Draft status means that it has either been recently created or imported and converted or manually Drafted by an admin. Draft Status for an item means that it is hidden from your Portal and can be edited, in either single-Item Edit mode or Bulk Edit mode. Items in Draft status need to be Bulk Edited or Validated to move into Preview status, when in Preview they can then be Approved moving them to Live Status, they will now appear on your Portal.
  • Draft (Auction status) – In the Webtron Dashboard, an Auction in Draft status means a Dashboard Admin has ticked the Save as Draft checkbox before clicking Save Auction when creating a new auction or editing an Auction in Preview status. Draft is a largely redundant status for an Auction, sharing most functionalities with Preview status but with one critical exception, Items cannot be created or uploaded to Auctions in Draft status. We advise ignoring the Save as Draft checkbox.
  • Draft (Item status control) – In the Webtron Dashboard, Draft also appears as two separate Item control buttons inside the Item list for each Auction. The first Draft button appears above the Item list table as a grey button, this control will move any selected Items from their current status, back to Draft status. Inside the Item list table, an individual Draft button also appears on each Item under the Actions column, this blue Draft button move individual Items back to Draft status.

Visibility:

  • Your Auction Portal – Hidden, Auctions and Items in Draft status are hidden from public view and cannot be seen until both are moved to Live status.
  • Inside the Webtron Dashboard – Visible only to Dashboard Admins, Auctions in Draft status can be viewed and edited via the View Auctions page > Modify Filter panel with the Draft filter checked and applied. Items in Draft status are can be viewed and edited in the View Auctions > Auctions table > # items hyperlink > Item list for their assigned Auction.
