Make Offer – Setting a Hidden Minimum Acceptable Offer

Estimated reading: 3 minutes

When using the Purchase Option: Make Offer, you have the option of utilising the Purchase Price option to set a hidden Minimum Acceptable Offer amount.

This means that any offers made by your bidders equal or below the Minimum Acceptable Offer amount will be auto-rejected.

You can set or edit the Minimum Acceptable Offer amount via the Purchase Price column in Bulk Edit.

FAQ: Setting a Hidden Minimum Acceptable Offer

Q: Will I still receive a notification if someone’s Offer is auto-rejected?
A: To save on email spam, no. However, auto-rejected Offers are still recorded and visible in both the Offer Table and Bid Table.

Q: Can auto-rejected offers still be accepted?
A: No, accepting and rejecting offers is final. If you would like to accept an auto-rejected offer, we recommend editing the Item to remove the Minimum Acceptable Offer amount, then contact the bidder directly to invite them to submit another offer at the same amount.

Q: What will the bidder see if their offer is automatically rejected?
A: The bidder will immediately see the Rejected badge next to any offers they make that are below the Minimum Acceptable Offer amount.

Q: Is the Minimum Acceptable Offer visible to the bidders?
A: No, the amount you set for the Minimum Acceptable Offer is completely hidden from your Portal. It is only visible to your Dashboard Admins via the Item List > Item Details or Bulk Edit menus.
