YouTube Account Required – Before following the steps detailed in this guide, you’ll need to have set up a YouTube channel and have uploaded your Lot videos.
YouTube Upload Cap – YouTube caps the number of daily video uploads at 10. If your Auction Items require more than 10 uploads per-day, we recommend spacing out your uploads.
Below are the quick steps for embedding a YouTube video on an item.
Step 1: Open your Auction’s Item List
Inside the Webtron Dashboard, navigate to the Auctions & Items > View Auctions menu, then click on the # items link to open the Item List:
Step 2: Check the status of your Items
To open your Items in Bulk Edit, they must be in either Draft or Preview status. Check the Status column on the right-hand side of the Item List table, if your Items are in Live status, tick the checkboxes at the left-hand edge of the Item List table to select them, then click on the Draft action above the table and click Confirm:
Step 3: Open your Items in Bulk Edit
Once you’ve selected your Items (and if necessary moved them to Draft status) click on the Bulk Edit shortcut above the Item List table to open your Items in the Bulk Edit menu:
Step 4: Navigate to the Media column
After Bulk Edit opens, you’ll see a table containing your selected items, look to the top-right of your screen, just above the table you’ll find a button, click this button to switch to the other end of the Bulk Edit table. Here you’ll find the Media column:
Step 5: Click on any icon and paste your YouTube link
Under the Media column, click on any of the icons to open the Attachments panel for that Item. Inside the panel and beneath the Choose Files button, you’ll find a small field. Left-click on this field and paste the Share link or URL to your YouTube video, then press Enter (Return on Apple devices):
YouTube Videos Per Item Cap There is no cap on how many YouTube videos you can embed on an Item, repeat Step 5 to add multiple YouTube links if needed.
Step 6: Click Save to close the panel, then click Save and Finish
Once you’ve pasted your YouTube link and pressed Enter/Return, click on the Save button at the bottom of the Attachments panel, then click Save and Finish at the top-left of the Bulk Edit menu, then click Save on the confirmation panel to finalise your changes:
Step 7: Restore your Items to Live status (if necessary)
After clicking Save and Finish, you’ll be returned to the Item List menu. If your items were previously in Live status, they may appear in Preview status. To restore your Items to Live from Preview status, click the Approve action button above the table, then click Confirm:

Embedded YouTube videos appear on the Item Details page for each item on your Portal, specifically inside the media gallery for that item:
Removing YouTube Videos from Items
If you need to remove an embedded YouTube video from an Item, repeat the same steps detailed above up to Step 5, then once you’ve opened the Attachment panel, click on the Videos dropdown at the bottom and click on the button next to the YouTube link. Once you’ve clicked the button, follow Step 6 and Step 7 to save your changes and restore your item(s) to Live status:
FAQ – Embedding YouTube Videos on Items
Q: How many videos can I embed on an Item? A: As many as you like! YouTube caps daily uploads to roughly 10 videos a day, but there is no cap on how many videos you can embed on individual Items.
Q: I uploaded a video to YouTube but the link isn’t working, it says it’s a Short? A: YouTube will often convert shorter videos to Shorts, but it’s quick and easy to fix that. You can ask our Tech Support AI to fix the link for you, just paste the link inside the chat and our Tech Support AI will respond with the corrected link.
Manual YouTube Link Fix – You can fix the YouTube Shorts link manually. Paste the YouTube link somewhere, then backspace the “shorts/” part of the link, for example: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6VKQyybHKCo (backspace the bolded text) and replace it with “watch?v=”, so your YouTube link will now look like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VKQyybHKCo.
Q: Where do the YouTube videos appear? A: For Timed Auctions and during the Pre-Bidding phase for Webcast Auctions, YouTube videos will appear inside photo gallery on the Item Details page for each Item. During the Live Bidding phase for Webcast Auctions, YouTube videos will autoplay alongside their respective Lots. When a Lot with a YouTube Video enters the ring, the YouTube video will pop up below the Auctioneer’s Livestream.
