When it comes to uploading photos to your Items, we have a two methods available inside the Webtron Dashboard, plus two more separate options in Vendor+. Each are each quicker in some ways, and slightly slower in others. Here is a ranking of each method in terms of speed, with their pros and cons listed:
Method 1 – Bulk Upload Images in the Webtron Dashboard
Overall, Bulk Upload Images is the quickest method in terms of overall upload speed and ease of use, but requires some time-consuming file preparation:
Pros
Cons
Fast Upload Time1 – We use a dedicated CDN to both quickly upload and sort your Image uploads, *however, this is still dependant on your internet speed, number of files and file size of each image.
File Name Requirement – Prior to upload, you are required to rename your Image files to match the Lot No. and set Photo Order for each Lot, for example, Lot 1’s images must be named: 1.jpg, 1-1.jpg, 1-2.jpg etc. This is to instruct the Dashboard on which Lot this image must be matched to (First digit sets the Lot No. and second digit sets the Image Order), but renaming files can be quite time consuming.
Automatic Sorting2 – The file name requirement ensures that your photos are quickly matched to their respective Lot, rather than having to manually upload to each Lot one-by-one.
Red light, green light – If you are uploading a large amount of Images or Images of a larger file size, you cannot navigate away from the Bulk Upload page, so if you have a spare device, it’s worth considering uploading your Images from there.
Ease of Use – Select your Images from your hard drive or drag and drop them into the dashed line, then click Upload and let the Dashboard handle the rest.
Massive Bulk Upload Capacity – Got a lot of Lots? The Bulk Uploader can handle up to 2000 Image uploads in one batch.
Built-in Smart Compression – This applies to any Upload Method but the Dashboard applies our smart compression algorithm during the Bulk Upload to ensure your images load lightning fast for your Bidders on your Portal.
Overall Speed Ranking – Fastest (1st place)
Whilst the File Name Requirement does slow down the initial organising of your photos for upload, the auto-matching and overall upload speed of Bulk Upload Images puts it at the top of the Photo Upload Methods speed ranking. Tools such as Name Mangler (macOS) and ReNamer (Windows) can also greatly assist with the file renaming process.
Speeding up the Rename Process – We have a special dedicated guide that covers both apps and practices that help reduce that renaming time sink. Click here to skip forward to that guide, but we encourage you to keep reading this guide first.
Method 2 – Bulk Edit Attachment Upload in the Webtron Dashboard
As covered later in the Attachment portion of the guide, you can upload images directly to a Lot via the Attachments panel when Bulk Editing your Item(s).
Pros
Cons
All the Benefits of Bulk Upload – Uploading via Bulk Edit gives you the same options and benefits of Bulk Upload, just limited to uploading on a per-Lot basis.
1Shoot Order – Your camera (Smartphone and DSLR) will automatically assign a filename to your Images, usually in ascending order, and the Dashboard will use this as a rough upload order for your Images. If you intend for a different Image to be the primary or for the order of Images to be different, you may need to upload your Images one-by-one or consider renaming your Image files.
No File Name Requirement1 – Unlike Bulk Upload, since you’re uploading your Images directly to your selected Lot, you don’t have to rename your Image files.
Manage your Uploads Directly – The Bulk Edit Attachments panel gives you additional options like viewing the Images you’ve uploaded to the Lot and deleting those Images, either one-by-one or all attached Images.
Overall Speed Ranking – Fast (2nd place)
Shoot Order does require you to sometimes tweak the file names prior to upload, but the Bulk Edit Attachment Uploader is still a viable option for uploading your photos. As this method is item-by-item, it does take a bit longer moving from item-to-item, but the benefits of the Webtron Dashboard’s Photo CDN will ensure each batch of your photos upload quickly.
Method 3 – Webtron Vendor+ Photoapp
Vendor+ Setup Required – If you would like to use Vendor+, get in touch with us at support@webtronoa.com to arrange a training overview session on accessing and using your Vendor+, as we’ll need a short amount of time (less than 1 business day) to set your Vendor+ up if it isn’t already available.
Webtron has a dedicated Photoapp designed entirely around the ease of shooting the photos of your Lots and uploading them directly to your catalogue, we call it Vendor+.
Vendor+ links directly to your created/uploaded Catalogue of Lots inside the Webtron Dashboard, enabling you to pick an auction and a Lot, then shoot and upload photos directly to that Lot with your Smartphone.
Pros
Cons
Point and Shoot – the Vendor+ Photoapp can use your smartphone or tablet’s built in camera to take a photo of your Item and sync it directly to your Catalogue, just point and shoot.
Lot-by-Lot – As with the Bulk Edit method, uploading and syncing through Vendor+ is done Item-by-Item, or in other words one at a time. You might find this easier if you haven’t taken any photos of your Items yet, but if you have, we’d recommend considering the Bulk Upload method if you’d like to upload all of your Photos in one go.
Upload from your Camera Roll – If you’ve already taken photos of your Items with your smart device, you can upload them to Vendor+ directly from your Camera Roll, it’s just 3 taps and you’re good to go.
Currently in Beta – Vendor+ received a massive v2 update in January 2025 but certain features such as the rebuilt Photoapp are currently in beta. If you have any issues using the Photoapp, get in touch with us at support@webtronoa.com for assistance.
(NEW) Simply Drag and Drop Re-Ordering – Want to change the primary photo of your Item, or just play with the display order of your photos? Now you can simply press your finger at the bottom-right of an uploaded photo, then drag it left or right to change the order.
Items must be uploaded first – Your full Auction Item Catalogue must be uploaded to the Webtron Dashboard, converted and approved to Live status for those Items to be selectable inside Vendor+. Items in Ghost status, Draft or Preview, will not appear in Vendor+.
Overall Speed Ranking – Fast (3rd place)
Vendor+ is best employed when you have fully catalogued your Auction and have either begun the process of taking photos or are about to begin. The requirement for your full Item List to have also been uploaded prior to using Vendor+ may also change your overall workflow, but we have some recommendations in the Vendor+ guides that may assist you with that.

Webtron VendorPlus now contains our brand new Auction Manager, enabling you to Create New Auctions and catalogue your Lots straight from your Smartphone. The Auction Manager features both manual and Webtron AI-Assisted cataloguing, greatly speeding up the cataloguing process for your Auctions.
