This guide details what the Verification process looks like for a typical Bidder if you are using Webtron’s Bidder Verification module, showing both the Successful Verification and the Skip Verification paths.
Successful Verification – Bidder Verification via Stripe
When a new Bidder logs in for the first time on your Portal, they’ll be required to Accepts the Terms and Conditions on any of your Current Auctions and complete Bidder Verification.
After clicking either the Accept Ts and Cs or Register for Auction buttons, your Bidder will see the Register for Auction page, with the Bidder Verification panel appearing just above the “I have read and agree with the Terms and Conditions” switch:
Your Bidder is required to fill in their:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
Card Number
Expiration Date
Security Code/CVC
Once filled in, they’ll click Verify, and the Verification handshake between your Portal and Stripe will initiate. Stripe will check the card details provided by your Bidder, if they are valid, your Bidder will see the “Your verification was successful.” message and can proceed with Accepting your Terms and Conditions as normal:
After Verifying a valid card and Accepting your Ts and Cs, your Bidder will be auto-approved to Bid on that Auction.
Skipped and Failed Verification – Bidder Verification via Stripe
If a Bidder cannot provide valid Card details, they have the option to Skip Verification and be manually approved by one of your Admins. When they reach the Register for Auction page, they can click on the Skip Verification toggle:
This will display a warning message, informing the Bidder that “Skipping the verification process will require manual approval by an the auction admin, which can take some time”. The Bidder can then Accept your Terms and Conditions as normal, but after doing so, the Auction page will display a “More Information Required for Registration” message:
Card Detail Pre-Check – If a Bidder has filled in their Card Number, Expiry or CVC incorrectly, the Verification panel will notify them and invite them to correct those details and click Verify again.
All Bid and Purchase buttons will be inaccessible to this Bidder, and their Auction registration status will be moved from Approved to Insufficient Data. The Bidder will receive a follow-up Registration Under Review email containing your Registration Verification requirements:
Personalisation and Wording – Both the Skip Verification warning message and the Registration Under Review email can be fully re-worded to fit your specifications, such as; adding relevant contact numbers, specifying the verification documents you require the Bidder reply with, and any other relevant information you’d like to include.
Your Admins will also receive a “User Verification Alert” notification email containing:
