Express Mode vs. Full Mode – VendorPlus Item Cataloging

This guide details the Express Mode and Full Mode toggles found in the New Lot menu inside VendorPlus, defining which fields appear in which mode, and which mode might best suit you and your team’s workflow.

Express Mode and Full Mode – Show or Hide all fields

VendorPlus’ New Lot menu contains a switch at the top of the Lot Details section, two buttons labelled Express Mode and Full Mode. These buttons switch between the simplified, or Express, version of the Lot Details form, and the full version of the form. Fields that can be filled in via AI Analysis of your Lot photos are marked out in an orange highlight.

Here’s a list of the field found in each mode, required fields are marked with a red *:

Express Mode fields

Express Mode is on by default but you can toggle between Express Mode and Full Mode each time you hit New Lot.

  • Lot Number (Auto Lot Numbering is on by default)
  • Lot Title *
  • Lot Summary
  • Lot Description
  • Item Type – Lot or Listing * (Lot only for Webcast Auctions)
  • Category List * (pre-filled with your default Category)
  • Vendor List * (pre-filled with your default Vendor)

Express Mode will fill in placeholders for the other required fields for Items, such as; Purchase Option (None), Bidding Type, and Increment.

Full Mode fields

Some fields in Full Mode are what we refer to as conditional; they won’t appear unless another option is toggled on or off. We’ll mark conditional fields with a blue * below.

Lot Details section

  • Lot Number * (Auto Lot Numbering is on by default)
  • Lot Title *
  • Lot Summary
  • Lot Description
  • Item Type * – Lot or Listing (Lot only for Webcast Auctions)
  • Purchase Option * – None – Valid for Lots only, fields for None listed below:
    • For Lots
      • Opening Bid – Optional but recommended.
      • Bid Increment * – Required only if Auto Increments is disabled
      • Reserve – Timed Lots only
      • Quantity * – Pre-filled as 1, do not change unless using Bidding Type – Per Item.
  • Purchase Option * – Make Offer – Valid for Timed Auction Lots and Listings only, fields for Make Offer listed below:
    • For Listings
      • Minimum Offer Price – Optional and hidden from your Portal. Offers made below the amount will be auto-rejected.
      • Display Price – Optional, used to list an RRP or visible minimum.
    • For Lots – Using Make Offer on Lots will add the Make Offer button alongside the Bid and Place Auto Bid buttons.
      • Minimum Offer Price – Optional and hidden from your Portal. Offers made below the amount will be auto-rejected.
      • Opening Bid – Optional but recommended.
      • Bid Increment * – Required only if Auto Increments is disabled
      • Reserve – Optional, Timed Lots only
      • Quantity – Pre-filled as 1, do not change unless using Bidding Type – Per Item.
  • Purchase Option * – Buy Now – Valid for Timed Auction Lots and Listings only, fields for Buy Now listed below:
    • For Listings
      • Buy Now Price * – The purchase price for this Listing
      • Display Price – Optional, used to list an RRP.
    • For Lots
      • Buy Now Price – The purchase price for this Lot.
      • Opening Bid – Optional but recommended.
      • Bid Increment * – Required only if Auto Increments is disabled
      • Reserve – Optional, Timed Lots only
      • Quantity * – Pre-filled as 1, do not change unless using Bidding Type – Per Item.
  • Bid Type * – We advise leaving this as Per Lot
  • Category List *
  • Vendor List *

BP and Tax Details section

This section is pre-filled by the Buyer’s Premium and Tax percentages you set when creating this Auction. If you need to change it on a per-Item basis, untick the Use Sale Tax Settings checkbox at the top of the section:

  • Use Sale Tax Settings * – Enabled by default, untick the checkbox to edit each of the fields below:
    • Buyer’s Premium * – Set your Buyer’s Premium %, whole number and two decimals only, set to 0.00 to disable your Buyer’s Premium.
    • Hammer Tax – Optional Tax Percentage on the final Hammer Price (commonly used for GST, VAT and State Sales’ Tax)
    • BP Tax – Optional Tax Percentage on the Buyer’s Premium amount (derived from Buyer’s Premium on final Hammer, commonly used for GST, VAT and Services Tax)
    • Charges – Optional Flat Fee on this Item, whole amounts only.
    • Charges Tax – Optional Tax Percentage on the Charges amount you set above.

Documents section

This section contains an Upload Documents option, enabling you to attach relevant documents directly to this Item, which your Bidders can then download from your Portal, inside the Item Details page for this Item.

If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, Upload Documents will open your Files app, which you can transfer documents to via your iCloud account. Android devices will open your default File Management app (Device Storage, Google Drive, OneDrive etc.).

  • Upload Documents
    • Supported File Types – Adobe PDF (.pdf), Word Doc (.docx), CSV Spreadsheet (.csv)
    • Maximum File Size – 20MB per file.
    • Maximum Number of Documents – Uncapped, there is no limit on how many Documents can be attached per-Item.

Uploading Documents is optional, feel free to skip ahead to the Videos or Location and Contact sections.

Videos section

This section contains a YouTube URL field that you can paste links to Item videos you have uploaded to your YouTube channel. Embedding YouTube videos is optional, if you are having difficulties with YouTube Shorts links, you can paste your link into our AI Chatbot and ask it to fix it for you, and it will return a corrected link.

  • YouTube URL
    • Supported YouTube Videos – Videos only, YouTube Shorts are not embeddable.
    • Maximum Number of YouTube Videos – Uncapped, but YouTube caps uploads per day at approx. 10 videos.

Embedding YouTube videos is optional, feel free to skip ahead to the Location and Contact section.

Location and Contact section

This section contains two checkboxes that enable and disable certain default features for your Auction:

  • Use Sale Address * – Ticked (Enabled) by default, unticking this checkbox will unfold the following fields:
