We’re currently updating this guide’s content to reflect the addition of Agents and other changes to Consignors as part of the Consignments v1.1.0 update. This message will disappear once this guide has been updated, thank you for your patience.
What’s the difference between an Agent and Consignor?
Agents can submit consignments on behalf of Consignors and Suppliers, and can also view and manage the submissions of any Vendor Profiles or Consignors they are linked to.
Agents can also create Supplier Profiles, allowing them to attribute their submissions to a person or organisation who isn’t set up as a Consignor in your VendorPlus.
Wait, what’s a Consignor?
As a quick reminder, Consignors are users you can invite to join your VendorPlus, they can then submit consignments for your ultimate Approval or Rejection, you can then decide which auction to assign their consignments to as Lots.
Consignors can be your Vendors or colleagues from a different branch or location, anyone you want to be able to submit Lots for your auctions.
With Consignors, you’re in complete control
Unlike Yard Officers, Consignors can’t directly create items, they can only submit their item(s) for your review.
Inviting a Consignor will get them through the door, but you have ultimate control over whether their submissions are approved or rejected, or even if they can submit consignments at all.
Consignors can’t see submissions from other consignors, and at any point, you can pause submissions or outright suspend a consignor from logging into your VendorPlus.
Before we get into the guide, we recommend creating the Vendor Profile your Consignor will be linked to, click on the guide listed below for the steps on creating a new Vendor Profile in the Webtron Dashboard:
