As part of our Pre-Auction Checklist, we recommend giving your Auctions a quick once-over review on your Portal before making them publicly visible to your Bidders. But of course, how do you access your Auction on your Portal without also exposing it to your Bidders?
All it takes is a few clicks and some precise timing.
Auction and Item Requirements – Approved to Live status
For your Auctions and the Items within them to show up on your Portal, both must be in Live status. Please ensure you have Approved both your Auction and full Item List (Lots, Listings and Webcast Lots) before following this guide.
If your Items are still in Draft status, don’t forget to select them and use the Validate action first to move them to Preview status, then click Approve to move them to Live status:
Opening and Hiding an Auction from your Portal
Step 1 – Open two tabs in your Browser
To begin, make sure you have two tabs open:
The Webtron Dashboard
Your Portal page on your website
Step 2 – Log into your Portal, Register for your Auction and open the Item Catalogue page
Log in to your Portal and Register for your Auction if you haven’t done so already, then on the Portal’s Current Auctions page, click the View Auction button or click the Auction Title to open the Item Catalogue page for that Auction:
Step 3 – Use the Auction Hidden action in the Webtron Dashboard
Once the Item Catalogue page on your Portal loads, switch back to the Webtron Dashboard tab and navigate to the Auctions & Items > View Auctions page:
Once on the View Auctions page, look to the middle-right of the Auctions table, under the column labelled Hidden, left-click the grey Tick circle:
When the Tick circle is green, your Auction is hidden from your Portal’s Current Auctions page and you’ll see a yellow Confirmation message at the top of your screen:
You can return to the Portal tab and review your Auction without your Bidders being able to see it.
Bonus Recommendation – Bookmark and Copy the Link
To make it easier for you and your Admins to get back in to the Hidden Auction, we recommend copying the direct link from the address bar, and Bookmarking the Auction as well:
